FAUX,FAKE CANDY and CUPCAKE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

Hi & HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

It's been a while since I last blogged,so I have lots to "show & tell". Christmas is arriving so fast! This year,I (like everyone) want to have a great holiday. I also want to try to do extras for my customers at my ETSY shoppe. I also plan on offering extra services like gift wrapping,I'll ship to the giftee w/ a note from the buyer,I'm offering lay-away,accepting any reasonable offers on the more expensive items & so on. I want all of my customers to have the best Christmas, too!

If you have any ideas, suggestions to make their shopping easier, etc.,please comment! I'd love to hear from you.

To start off,I've made some faux treats & cupcake ornaments for the tree. They're shown in the pics on the top of the page. I also made faux cookies & lollipops. I'd love to have an entire dessert tree! If it were up to me,I'd have about 5 different trees all decorated w/ different themes. Maybe I can have 1 full size & 4 or 5 smaller ones to set on tables, shelves & even in the kitchen!

I've made a few rustic style ornamnets from burlap. They're in shapes of trees, stars & more, then hand painted. I need to finish just a little more on those, then I'll post photos to get your opinion.

Next,I wnt to tell everyone how much I LOVE a new ETSY shoppe I found. Their shop has tons of great vintage finds, nice pricing & the best customer service! When I received my package,it was like opening gifts. What more could I ask for? I'll post pics of my items fr. them in my next post, too. Their shop is junk genius. You really should take a look at their place. You're sure to find a few gifts for the ones on your list (or yourself).

That's it for now. I'll probably post twice tomorrow,I have sellers to brag about & more photos to post. Please, let me know your opinion on the faux treat ornies. I have a few faux treat magnets in my shop, too,if you'd like to take a peek. They're make the cutest stocking stuffers (hint, hint)!!

By the way, any & all followers of my blog will receive 20% off their entire order (not inc. s/h). Just write your blog ID in the notes to seller area so that I can confirm it. I'll refund your discount by paypal.

I've got a few little extras for my blog followers. If your order is $50 & up,you'll receive a free package of vintage treasure. There will be vintage sheet music, gift tags & more in the package. I'll post a photo tomorrow to give you a better idea of it.

Check back for more discounts I have for you. Like I said,I want all of us to have the best Christmas ever!!!

Happy holidays & happy shopping!

The Most Gorgeous Double Ruffle Ribbons

A few weeks ago, I ordered a few ribbons. I wanted sooo much more, but I'll order those soon. Most nof the ribbons I ordered are the 7/8" double ruffle ribbons & 3 of the new 7/8" bark ribbons. I couldn't have been happier when I received my package!!

Deb, from Just Because Ribbons,is one of the sweetest gals you will ever work with! I had so many questions and special requests before ordering & she was so patient & nice.

I'm in the process of learning how to sew. Once I saw the ribbons in person,I finally started trying to learn. I "hope" to make pillows w/ the ribbons from Deb. I can just see the pillows in my mind...of couse, they're all gorgeous!!

Even if it takes some time trying to make my pillows,I've decorated vintage spools w/ the ribbons. Everyone loves them! They're so soft.

Be sure to drop by her shop . If you can sew, you'll really be happy with anything & everything that you buy here. If you're like me,just learning to sew, etc.,you'll be so happy with everything. Not only will you be happy w/ the ribbons, you'll be very please w/ her customer service!

I've also ordered some business cards, matching stickers & gift certificates. I'll be bragging on this lady soon! Anyway... I'm going w/ the blue & brown colors. I love the way Deb's ribbons looks w/ my business cards! Thank you so much,Deb at JUST BECAUSE RIBBONS for such a great shopping experience!!! I'll be back again & again! This lady EARNS customer loyalty.

HELP ID THIS FABRIC and WIN A GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR MY ETSY SHOP

While shopping for vintage treasure in TN,I found this huge pair of vintage curtains. They're lined and are quite heavy. They have a nubby feel to them. In the selvedge,it says "VAT PRINTS",along w/ a little more that I can make out.

I'm "thinking" that they're bark cloth, but I want to be sure. SO...I'm having a contest!! The 1st person that can ID this fabric will receive a $20 gift certificate for my ETSY shop. The certificate is valid for 6 months,so you could use it while Christmas shopping (or buy a gift for yourself~you deserve it!). If holiday shopping,we offer gift wrapping,we'll ship to the giftee w/ a gift tag to let them know it's from you and much more! If you see something in my shop that you want to lay-away,you can use the gift certificate for that, too.

I really want to give this gift certificate away! I hope to hear from you guys soon.

Best wishes & best of luck,

B.Suzanne

P.S.~ If you love vintage fabric,I have some adorable feed sack fabric w/ gorgeous patterns and in really nice condition & LOTS of damask napkins, hand towels and more that I'll be adding to my shop soon!!

A few of my hand made Halloween decorations

I had the best picture in my head of what these should look like. They're "kinda" close to what I tried for,but I'm not finished yet. I know so many of us ETSY sellers say that an item looks better in person...it's just so hard to get the right photo. Well, these are a few of those items.

I'm very, well, wierd when it comes to others looking at anything that I make myself. "Go ahead & show them to anybody that looks at this blog" I said to myself. I thought it would make me feel just a little better...I'm not sure if I feel better yet.

There's a few boxes of things I've made, but never showed them to anyone. OK~ I've shown a few things. For example, the faux treats/magnets. Lots of views & hearts, but no sales. None! OH~ I did have an order for a small batch, but then the flood came & I was out of service for a few weeks. So,the sale never happened. But I'm still happy the gal wanted them. I'll have to look her convo up & send her a few, just as a thank you gift. Something like that made me feel so good about myself.

Oh well, I'll just try & try again. I've got to buy new supplies before I "try & try again",but when I do,I'll post those photos, too. If anyone sees them or not,at least I know that I put them on there.

If anyone is reading this blog and has a few of their own hand made Halloween creations to share w/ me,please do! I could use the inspiration & moral support.

I have lots to show for "What I Found This Week" & some salvaged pieces that I look forward to working on,but it's getting late...I'll post about that tomorrow.

Sweet Dreams!!

SHOP DISCOUNT FOR MY BLOG READERS!!

I admit it. I can't pass by a flea market, thrift store or antique store without stopping. I have 2 rooms stocked with inventory of items I just had to have at the time. I stopped at a thrift store today & I'm going on a vintage shopping trip this weekend.

But...I love it!! I can't help myself. I think of the lady that wore that vintage necklace, wonder if it was a gift from a loved one,did she only wear it on special occasions, etc. Maybe the history (or the history that I imagine) makes the items so special & hard to pass up(?).

I have these beads from a broken necklace that my Mom gave me (pictured above). Her gret uncle gave them to her & so on. I've thought of so many stories where this broken necklace is concerned. Did it make her smile when she saw it? How did it get broken? Where to did she where it to?

I don't even know what type of beads these are called. If you do,please let me know. Maybe that will give me some type of answer to my (imaginary) story.

Ok..enough about my vintage addiction for now. I've got to make room for new vintage treasure that I hope to bring back from this weekend's shopping trip. SO...I'm offering 25% off your entire purchase in my shop to anyone that follows my blog. Just become a follower to my blog & add your "blog name" in the Notes to Seller section. I'll refund the 25% by paypal. If your purchase is $50 & over, you'll also receive a box of vintage goodies.
Hope all of you have a great weekend!!
XoXo,
B.Suzanne

THE VINTAGE KITCHEN/BAKERY TREASURES I FOUND THIS WEEK!!

I get in certain moods that make me love shopping more than usual...this was one of those weeks!!! I sooo wanted to go shopping again today to buy what I had made myself pass up yesterday, but I'm doing my best to work on the computer instead.

This week, I've traveled to antique shops & various flea markets, buying quite a bit everywhere I stopped. But, I'm very happy w/ everything I found.

A few of my favorites...vintage kitchen & bakery finds. Pastry molds still in their packaging,LOTS of chocolate and/or pudding molds from Sweden, colorful serving trays im the happiest shades, the prettiest girly girl salt, pepper & sugar shaker set...believe it or not,the list goes on. And that's just the kitchen items!!!

Now I want to decorate w/ just the right touch. For that, I'll need some help. I adore Jennysbakeshop on ETSY. Her style is so recognizable & just adorable! Her blog, everydayisaholiday, shows even more of her personal style that I (like many others) love so much. So...I think I'll ask for her help in decorating w/ my vintage kitchen finds.

Now it's time to contact Jenny. I'll keep you up to date on what happens after that. Wish me luck!!

PS~ take a look at a few of the vintage kitchen finds & send your ideas!!! I'm selling some of them at my ETSY shop,The Vanity Table.
**I'm asking my customers to send a few photos, notes, etc. of how they decorate w/ any of the items in my shop & I'll post them on my blog. Also, send any links from your blogs, shops,or anything else that you'd like to show-off.**

What I found this week

My Mom gave me this old carousel. Underneath,it has the "music player" that shows the gears and there's that long handle...it's rusted, like so many places on the carousel. You can see the handle right above "PLAYLAND" on the base. Please send info & advice on cleaning this!! I already love it & want to clean it up.

I love vintage fabrics. I found this vintage panel. Does anyone have a few tips on knowing what type of fabric it is,cleaning, etc.?

Flea markets, antique shops, thrift stores...I love them all!! I love to go on the hunt for vintage treasure. Each week, I'll be posting photos and info on the items that I find. I'd love to hear from you on whatever it is I find that week. Some items will need cleaning, touch ups, etc. Any tips & advice would really be appreciated!

These are some of the items I found this week. I sell some of the items in my ETSY shop & I keep the others. The hats are already listed & I'll list the milk bottle today. I love vintage clocks, but I think I'm gonna change this one a little. Any ideas?

Be sure to take a look @ a few of my favorites this week from ETSY. They're near the bottom of the blog page.

Back to Me

A vintage hat I found a few days ago
An old cheese/storage box filled w/ hydrangeas

A few vintage finds that have that perfect "cottage" feel

Matilda trying to stay awake while watching TV ~ her favorite show is Gossip Girl!

Finally, after about 6 months,I'm starting to blog again. Have you ever lost yourself to the point that you can barely remember what your favorite things in life are, what your interests are, etc.? It's gonna take some time to get back to "me". I'm both excited & scared about it.
I've moved back to my home town in WV. It's so much better being close to my family & friends. It helps to be near the town that I grew up in. I still have my English Bulldog,Matilda. It's amazing how animals seem to have their own personality. She really has helped me so much.
Now I've got to get my home organized (that's gonna take some time), work on my ETSY shop, maybe sign up on a few other sites & try to get involved in a swap or 2.

Wish me luck!
